Personalized Recommendations are now live for everyone on Umamii
Finding your next restaurant should feel effortless, not like another scrolling session.
That’s why we’re excited to share an update we’ve been working on for a while: Personalized Recommendations are now available to everyone on Umamii.
This rollout reflects a lot of refinement on our side. We’ve been tuning the recommendation engine so your Discover experience gets to the point faster, using the signals that matter most:
- what you like
- the people you follow
- the sources you trust
The goal is simple: help you get to a short list you actually feel good about, in seconds.
What Personalized Recs does
When Personalized Recs is on, Umamii:
- re-orders restaurants based on your taste profile
- groups results so browsing is easier and faster
- makes it simpler to find spots that match your vibe, whether you’re planning ahead or deciding last minute
Think of it as a Discover feed that adapts to you, instead of making you do all the work.
How to use it
- Tap Search on Home (or Explore)
- Toggle on Personalized Recs (if it isn’t already)
- Browse your re-ranked, grouped results
Want better recs faster?
Personalization improves the more you use Umamii, but if you want a quick boost, here are three easy moves:
- Heart a few places you already love
- Follow a couple people whose taste you trust
- Adjust influence levels so the people and review sites you rely on matter more (or less)
